Royal Opera House Young Singers 3rd May

The first Royal Opera House Jette Parker Young Artists Recital on 12th April was amazing. Jacquelyn Stucker (soprano) and Konu Kim (tenor) were in fine voice.  As always David Gowland, Musical Director of the whole programme,  provided the backbon with his fine measured piano playing.

If you missed it or want to come and see the second one join us  on the  3rd May  at 7.30pm at Rosslyn Hill Unitarian Chapel

Previous  concerts have proved very popular allowing us to hear and see superb young singers close up in a small hall. Previous singers from this programme have been prominant on the main stage and internationally.  For example, in June 2017, Jennifer Davis took  the lead role of Adina in L'Elisir D'Amore in place of  Aleksandra Kurzak for several performances. Konu Kim is scheduled to sing in La Fille du Regiment in the role made famous by Flores.

On 3rd May, the performers are Francesca Chiejina (soprano) and Dominic Sedgwick (baritone) who will perform songs by Wolf, Butterworth, Schoenberg, and Carter , followed by arias from Handel’s Amadigi di Gaula, Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos, Bizet’s Carmen, and a duet from Mozart’s Don Giovanni. Accompanied by David Gowland on piano

This is another fabulous opportunity to hear the young stars of the opera world who are already performing on the main stage at the Royal Opera House.  The Jette Parker programme is supported by Oak Foundation.
